GREEN AND WHITE CHRISTMAS BALL
To the next level
With much more experience in leading, my club members and I decided to take things up to the "next level." We transformed our school hall into a dance pool in times of Christmas. The profit from selling the tickets goes directly into our community service fund!
Green and White Christmas Ball: Projects
I aspire to do something different for my school's Interact Club, something that is distinctive from all the rest of the Interact Clubs. My ambition, paired with the high-standing demand for joint-school events, drove my fellow club mates and me to throw a party to raise funds for our upcoming community services.
The Green and White Christmas Ball was our largest project yet: with more than five distinctive teams and 65 members to coordinate, we could hardly catch a break once we announced it. For the next few months, we filmed a promotion video with an alumni's help, contracted a production house, and devised detailed programs and rundowns. Wanting to elevate our guests' experience, I even decided to launch a catering service for the night: I designed menus, purchased food, and transformed the classrooms into restaurants. While the preparation work was demanding, the real challenge was during that special Christmas night - we had to maintain order while ensuring people are having fun. Without any prior experience in running a catering service, our little restaurants were also operating like a mess. My clubmates and I would not be baffled so quickly: I hosted a short meeting and improved the situation.
When the music stopped, and the Ball came to an end, we saw smiles on everyone's faces. We managed to earn more than HK$20000 for our upcoming services, and most importantly, We know that we gave the other 400 guests a beautiful night to remember.
